Sunday Brunch in Redondo Beach…

August 21, 2011

Mom (82), me and three little brothers.  L to R: Jay, me, mom, Chris and Matty.   Great breakfast and some rousing political discussion (one even called me a socialist… and my only correction to that would be the word proud).  I may be left of the group, but still, two of them, at least, have abandoned their parties and are now registered independents.  Not naming names. Made for fun conversation.  See? Everyone’s still smiling.

…. and dinner at home in Davis.

Ahhhh..

Great looking family! Are you waiting for a parade to come by?
Mom doesn’t look 82–still beautiful. Wondering what caused
the two to shift to Independent? I have a few friends and at least one family member I’d like to change in that direction. I have to wonder how people define socialism that makes them think it is a
bad thing. So many great countries that are socialist and have no desire to change.

Smiling at the idea of a parade… no, we’d just finished eating at CJ’s.. down on Catalina, near the pier, and decided we needed a picture of our satedness. GREAT.

My mom IS looking pretty good 🙂 (And I know you do, too; I see the pics..)

It baffles me, too, that the idea of a socialist democracy is so scary to people. I have serious Norway and Denmark envy. Sweden, too (having lived there). The quality of life there is very very high; people are cared for their entire lives. Priorities in the right place, far as I’m concerned.

Much love to you, Breeze. I think of you and your beautiful daughter often (and always on the 13th of August.. )

      xoxo
