102
April 1, 2024
Rita is 102. After not seeing her in nearly 20 years, I visited her at the Palm Garden convalescent home in Woodland. We’ve stayed in touch all these years through cards, letters and such. She’s still sharp.. only her body slowing down. It was a lovely visit. She’s still awash in ideas and plans for improving our world (Books not Bombs is her latest brainchild, and she’s writing a play she hopes could be performed at the Mondavi). May we all be as engaged and devoted to goodness, at any age.

Her friend (also a hospice volunteer) Melinda took the pic.
