The Bottom Half

December 11, 2011

After a week of looking at a half decorated tree, I finally got around to hanging ornaments.  Since bringing it in last weekend, the tree had remained just a tree with lights.  (Well, while the ladder was out last weekend, Jim had zig zagged a few strands of wooden beads around the topmost branches… but that was it–lights and few beads.)  Full boxes sat ready to be opened, ornaments ready to be unwrapped and hung… but I wasn’t ready.  Besides, it looked pretty in its natural-ish state, and smelled good enough to enjoy as-was.

But yesterday I decided to finish the job.  Brought it all out–ornaments, heaps of traditional swedish Jul stuff, candles, angels, nutcrackers, stars, runners & tablecloths, and my favorite: some paper snowmen Jim made (paper doll-style) about ten years ago (they’re worth a picture… will do that in a day or two).

A living room transformed. Begging us to sit for a spell and bask in its holidayness.

And… I have to say, it’s tempting!
