Was in the middle of a round of crunches, looked up and out the window and saw this colorless view.
At least the knobbiness of the branches suggests greenery to come.

I’m sure you’re wondering.. just what the hell am I looking at??
That is my new hat.
I’m looking at the clock and realizing I’ve yet to select a photo-of-the-day. I’m suddenly in a little bit of a panic… knowing the only photo I’ve taken today was a bunch of sleeping ducks down at the arboretum this morning and I have nothing at all to say about sleeping ducks right now… so looked around and thought.. hmm…. my odd little purchase from yesterday, that’ll work.
I look terrible in all hats, so figured it would not matter a bit if I had a cute hat or a ridiculous hat, so opted for ridiculous. And warm. At least I think I’ll need something warm at 18,000 feet. And the good news: REI’s having a clearance sale on winter clothes and this hat went for a song. Can you believe my luck?
I couldn’t quite get all of my hat in the frame holding it in my hand, so perched it on the end of my foot.
